Using the iPad to compensate for eyesight chalenges, hearing difficulties and/or essential tremors.

Hi educators,

I am a volunteer educator looking for resources to help seniors who have an iPad. I would like to leverage the iPad's accessibility/accommodations features. Initially, I would address individuals that are visually impaired or simply have eyesight chalenges. However, I am thinking that individuals that have hearing difficulties could also benefit from a similar approach.

Seniors with early stages of Parkinson's disease or essential tremors would benefit from other accessibility/accommodations features of the iPad.

I have explored Apple's accessibility settings but it's a bit overwhelming. How can practical exercises make this learning more acessible?

Thank you for your volunteer work with seniors and others facing challenges related to Parkinson’s, eyesight, and aging!

Meaningful connections to a growing senior population is so important. I’m also interested in iPad accessibility for individuals with dementia and cognitive decline.

While each person’s connection with their health challenge is unique, exploring how iPads can facilitate simple tasks and bring joy is beneficial for everyone.

I discovered that Apple Support provides accessibility guides to some specific features you mentioned, (listed a few below). I hope these resources are helpful

Caregivers can also benefit from Apple Music to create playlists, Photos to create albums, and FaceTime calls to stay connected.
