Multimodal Literacy Assessments in Keynote

I recently had the opportunity to co-teach with some of our elementary literacy faculty members who were working with preservice teachers on assessment strategies for early literacy. We created two different templates in Keynote to assess students' ability to pronounce letter sounds and accurately spell words after hearing them using interactive letter blocks.

The ability to embed drawing, images, audio, shapes, and video in Keynote makes it a perfect partner for assessing developing literacy skills!

Keynote slide prompting students to spell the word they hear in an audio button
The preservice teachers in these classes learned how to build Keynote templates like this and brainstormed additional ways that the templates could be altered to fulfill different literacy assessment purposes when working with K-2 students in their school placements.

Both templates are attached below. I hope they are helpful!
