Online Safety
Navigating online can sometimes feel like venturing into a digital jungle—unexpected risks and harmful content can appear without warning.

Apple Accounts
Apple accounts are user accounts associated with Apple services, allowing access to features such as iCloud, the App Store, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. These accounts store data, app purchases, settings, and subscriptions.
Apple accounts can be personal or managed. Personal accounts are for individual use and offer full control over services, while managed accounts are controlled by schools and often have restrictions.
If a child is under 13 years of age, parents or guardians should create an Apple Account for a child to allow children to safely use Apple services while maintaining parental control.

Family Sharing & Screen Time
Family Sharing allows up to six people to share Apple services, purchases, and subscriptions like iCloud+, Apple Music, and App Store content, while maintaining individual Apple Accounts. It includes features like shared purchases, iCloud storage, location sharing, and parental controls such as **Ask to Buy** for children.
Screen Time complements this by helping families monitor and manage device usage. It provides insights into app and website usage, allows setting app limits, scheduling downtime, and enforcing content restrictions to promote healthy digital habits. Together, these tools enhance convenience, safety, and balance within a family’s digital ecosystem.

Focus
While it would be every parent’s dream to manage their children’s devices and screen time into their late teens, this can be challenging due to the evolving nature of privacy among young people during this stage of development.
Enabling families to guide their teenage children in self-regulating their device usage by sharing information about the Focus feature on Apple devices can be one effective approach to addressing this challenge.
Focus helps minimise distractions, improves productivity, and allows users to better manage their time.
