Create Idiom Comic Strips with Apple Intelligence

Creative activity: Teach idioms or other concepts such as cause/effect or sequencing by creating graphic comic strips. If you have Apple Intelligence, you can use Image Playground (or Genmojis) to create images to illustrate meaning. You can still do this activity using drawings, photos, or emojis if you don’t have Apple Intelligence. 

📋What you’ll need:  iPad, Pages app

🙋Participants:  Individual 

⏱️Time needed:  approximately 30 minutes

⬇️Resource: Create a Comic Strip. If you have access to Apple Intelligence, you can Create original images with Image Playground on iPad or Create your own emoji with Genmoji on iPad.

👉Instructions: 

  1. Download the Comic Strip template and open it in Pages.
  2. Tap [Insert Media] and select Image Playground to create images to match your idiom.
  3. Add Quote bubbles and text boxes to your images explaining your idiom.
  4. Arrange and resize your objects as needed.
  5. Export your comic as a .jpg or .pdf to share easily.

The Idiom examples are wonderful! Great way for students to learn this literary concept. Idioms are so prevalent in language and it is super for students to be able to pull them apart creatively via a comic strip.
