Manu (Bird) Murals on Keynote

For our upcoming Whakanuia a Whakarongo (Whakarongo Festival) my Year 2 students have been hard at work designing and creating some beautiful artwork.

We were inspired by the artist Flox and her book Tūmeke Tūī. Our students also loved reading the non fiction text Painting Stories by Kate Potter that looks at city mural design and all the planning that is involved in this artistic and creative process.

Below are some examples of work done by our 6 and 7 year old ākonga. I have also attached a PDF of the process.
