lesson Summary: While working with fractions, I created a Numbers template for my class to use in order to have a scavenger hunt for fractions in our room. The goal was to find an example of each fraction with any of the materials we have in our room.
Initially, I broke the class into groups and thought that would be best, but quickly realized that with sending them their own templates, it was not as collaborative as I planned.
So instead, I revamped it and sent it back out a few days later, The kids could still walk around with their group and talk but they all put all their pieces to the template in their own version. This worked a lot better.

Thanks for the tip on how to best implement this creative activity. A “hunt” for real world examples also brings math concepts to life.
