The "Mini-Authors" Project: A Journey of Creativity and Connection

After the success of our Mini-Autores (Mini-Authors) project last year, I'm thrilled to announce that we're bringing it back for the 2025 school year, and aiming for even greater things!

Last year, my students from PrepaTec Santa Catarina took on a truly inspiring challenge: using their Mac and iPhone skills, they planned, designed, and illustrated a series of beautiful children's books. The magic, however, was in the source material: the main characters were based on simple, heartfelt sketches hand-drawn by children from a local public elementary school.

Each high school team was assigned one of these precious drawings and given the creative freedom to develop it into a complete, fully illustrated story. The culmination of their hard work was nothing short of amazing, each unique story was printed as a beautiful hardcover book. We published 100 different books last year, and the moment we handed them back to the original young writers was pure joy.

This year, we're setting an even more ambitious goal: to create and print 150 different stories! This project is a fantastic way to blend Apple technology skills with creative storytelling, all while fostering a powerful connection between students and the wider community. I can't wait to see what incredible new worlds our students will bring to life!
