“It’s the thought that counts”

Having positive thoughts definitely changes yourself and way you see and feel about things.

If your objective is to achieve changes on others, it is actions that will help you achieve those objectives.

I noticed my 4th graders didn’t have the appropriate English level nor the attitude to become better English speakers so I decided to take action.

I started projecting dialogues about different topics first thing I would do was to play the roles with my learners, that way I would make sure they read, listened and spoke English every school day.

Little by little I started noticing little changes, not only they got better in fluency but also pronouncing and using the proper intonation according to the different contexts or situations.

I’m not even half way done but the school year is not either, eventually I plan to have the learners write their own dialogues and present them to the rest of the class.

Every successful person there is had a teacher who inspired them.

Your reflection beautifully highlights an essential truth in education: while positive thinking shapes our attitude, intentional action is what truly transforms learning. I admire the way you identified a specific need in your 4th graders and immediately moved toward a concrete strategy to help them grow.

Thanks for the thoughts!
